The Challenge

This Richmond couple moved to the Northern Neck after they retired. They bought a ranch style home on the Rappahannock and have been turning it into their dream home ever since. The old kitchen was choppy and awkward—a peninsula jutted out into the middle of the room and obstructed flow, and the cabinetry was deteriorating. The new kitchen takes advantage of the sweeping views and large windows, filling the space with light. The new layout creates a gathering space in the heart of the home, and the centerpiece walnut counter top invites family and friends to come together.
